Bobby, Anne, thier mother, Mrs. Richard, and Aunt Janet were enjoying their holidays at a lake in New Mynah in their new caravan when Mrs. Richard suddenly had to rush back to nurse her sister, Mrs. Lucy, back to health after an accident. Later on, the children were rejoined with their good friend Sylvester and their cousin Tommy. They were then sent to Cape Cod Chalet to spend their holidays together. One day, while Tommy was wearing sme old clothes which he bought from a shop, read a coded letter written by a friend. A strange man mistook Tommy for another boy and snatched Tommy’s letter away. That was when all the trouble and adventure began for the children.
